Porridge Comforts

Oh dear, I don't feel all too good today. Woke up feeling lethargic and not well rested. Was up a bit later than usual, so the children had to make do with just cereal with banana for breakfast. My No. 2 is also not feeling well. Right after KAFA, as he got off the transporter's van, I could see his puffy eyes and flushed skin. Told him he gets a day off from school today.

Usually when he's unwell, he would request for porridge. In particular, salmon porridge. It was a good thing I bought several Norwegian salmon fillets when out shopping at Cold Storage the day before.

Here's a bowl of SHM's salmon porridge. And am glad to see the boys having two bowls each. Well, except for the littlest one, who mostly survives on a diet of milk, fruits and Koko Krunch!

Gastronomic Weekend

Weekend rituals are always packed with nomnomnom activities. Sapede! Soru! Gosh, the copious amount of food we delight in during the weekend can more than make up for a whole weekday of not eating! But of course the snag is..... Weekdays are also filled with food and more food? Haha!

My Saturday morning started off with a tall glass of Dragonfruit Juice and Bread Butter Pudding with Custard Sauce.

Then Saturday Night, had a chance for a date with Darling! We decided on Ole-Ole Bali @ Empire as we love the outdoor setting at night, and especially it was cool that night after the rain. Loved the ambience and atmosphere.... Above photo a set of Mepanggang meal. Hubby had that, together with Sup Buntut.

I had the Soto, as I wanted something light. I was more interested in enjoying the scene and the wonderful company....

Muka malas nak pose. Enjoying the night and looking at the tealight ;-)

Come Sunday, brought my In-Laws to my parents' as my Mom
prepared Sunday Lunch for all of us. Makan busat lagi...

Masak lauk kampung. Yummey! Masak Lemak Jantung Pisang with Sardine was the ultimate gastronomic nirvana that day! Wuuhuu!

Later on, went out with my boys to Subang Parade for groceries at Cold Storage and fruits at MBG. We then went for makan at Manhattan Fish Market.

Ammar and Adam had the Creamy Seafood Pasta.

Yep, he loved it all right!

Azfar had Fish (Cod) & Chips.

And I had....

The flamin'......

Prawns with Chips! Yumz!

My wok with only the kulit udang after I was done with it! Hehe

All in all, Alhamdulillah, Thank You Allah for the rezeki.....

When Kakak Is Here

The boys' cousin sister came to our place yesterday and had a sleepover too. Needless to say, the cousins are excited because they don't get to see each other that often. When they were younger, such reunion would spell 'chaos' all around, with the elder 3 A Brothers and Cousin Sister A ;-) But now, the situation is somewhat calmer, and I realised that it must be due to them having grown up a little. They play in a much more 'civilised' manner. Hahaha.

And hey, Mommy has got a helper, Kakak Alissa dah pandai tolong Mommy and jaga Adik =D

This is Cousin Alissa, now almost 10 years old.

Ok, now you have to excuse me. Banyak acara hari ni, especially makan-makan tu top agenda :-D

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

How To Deal With Non Productive Employees

A 'problematic' employee is dangerous to an organization. Handling such a person who continually drags the team down is not an easy feat. The worst is when the root of the problem is their attitude and embedded ignorance about the most basic responsibility as a member of a team. The person is like a virus, if not given the proper 'treatment' and 'anti-virus' will spread animosity and hostility amongst other members, and affect the organization as a whole.

Possible 'cures' might be workable, but if all else fails, elimination is the only answer.

Salam Jumaat semua.

At this Juncture

Salam and Good Morning folks! Hopefully today will be a good day for all of us ya, InsyaAllah.

While we eat, drink and go about our daily routine today, many people are despairing bout their lives, about their future, namely in countries where there are political unrest and also those countries hit by natural disasters. Right at this very minute and moment, people might be dying or are in great pain and suffering.

Let us take this time to reflect and ponder about our own lives. Many days we might complain and feel bitter about how we hate our jobs, or feeling particularly venomous towards some people around us, or maybe dissatisfied with what we have yearning to have something more. Don't get me wrong, of course we should continuously aim to have a better life, better opportunities but what we have currently should also be a source of happiness. There are always things to be grateful about. Little things do matter.

When we have these negative, bitter thoughts, stop and think about other people who have much less, and those who are in desperation in Libya, in Yemen, in Palestine, those facing calamity and life's brutality around the world and even the ones in our home front. Those people whose lives were brutally taken away from them, and those facing and struggling against fatal conditions. Ponder these facts and do realize, bukankah kehidupan anda sekarang banyak nikmatnya dan melimpah ruah dengan kelebihan yang mungkin anda tidak sedari? Syukurlah ke atas apa yang anda perolehi.

The job you have, the clothes you wear, the car you drive, people that you love, the house that you call home, all these can be taken away from you in a blink of an eye. In a hearbeat. And true as the saying goes, "You Never Know What You Had Until It's All Gone." Look around you, appreciate what you see.

Kenapa kita selalu tidak bersyukur? Why are we always finding faults with everyone, everything? Why are we always bitter towards life? It's not as if we don't have a choice. We choose what we want and then we DON'T want to live with it? Come on, be smart! Be positive about things, have a positive vibe (of course sometimes we are allowed to bitch about stuff, but please not ALL the blardy time!). Be nice and kind, IF you want that in return. Look at things in a broader perspective. Embrace life and everything in it. Then only you will have peace within you. And then only you will see that life is precious, it is a gift, and should be rightfully appreciated. Time is short. Life is short. Make use of it in a meaningful way. Hatred, bitterness, contempt...... try our hardest to refrain from these destructive traits.

As I said, life is too short to be filled with such negativity.

Salmon Showdown

I love salmon! Anybody who knows me can attest to that. My usual salmon dish at home would be grilled or panfry salmon blocks with desired veggies as condiments. This morning however, I prepared a salmony yummy breakfast.

Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs with Green Olives on Onion Cheese French Baguette. Breakfast for champions! ;)

Thursday I Love :)

You luvvies want to know why I love Thursdays nowadays? It's because my part time maid will come in from 8 am till 1 pm. Thus, I am somewhat relieved from house arrest (haha) and my morning chores. The best part is I do not have to bother with the ironing, mopping and toilet cleaning! *joy joy*

Aaaanddd, I get to go for breakfast with my darling Hubble Bubble :D

So, this morning we went for some honest to goodness Mamak breakfast where I indulged freely in my favourite Roti Sardine and Milo Kosong. *satisfied*

But, bila balik rumah perut rasa terpenuh muatan pulak erkkkk. So, buatlah Green Apple + Celery Juice bagi DETOX apa yang patut eh *wink*

My juice for today. I am into juicing now folks. One really beneficial combo albeit needing an acquired taste is this: Celery + Ginger + Bittergourd. It's really good for lowering the blood pressure and relieves headaches as well. And the ginger helps expel wind. But, if you can't stand the taste, do mix it with orange juice!

Oh oh, ingat tak my entry semalam pasal Malaysian punya style minum petang tu? You all nak tahu sapa yang xcited terlebih?

2 org budak ni!!

Minum Petang The Malaysian Way

Hey, asyik-asyik nak feature English Afternoon Tea aje kan? Malaysian punya version pun sangat 'menggiurkan' okeh! Jom terjah SHM punya menu minum petang hari ini....... =)

Simple aje geng... Bahulu tu cicah dengan air Teh Boh. And Pisang Goreng rangup2 panas2 beli kat gerai ;) Tapi syiokkk beb!

Comfort Food

Sometimes all you want is some well loved comfort food...

Nasik panas with Kari Daging campur kentang. Finger lickin' good. Oh, and I hv just tried out an easy petua to lembutkan daging. Just add a little soda bicarbonate. It really works! Tak perlu letak sudu besi etc ;)

Everyday Big Breakfast!

You know that saying, Breakfast Like A King? I am a firm believer that we should all have a filling breakfast to power start the day. Especially for school going children. It's a well established routine at my place for the heroes to have a sit-down breakfast together before going off for school, kindy, KAFA. Not having proper breakfast makes you cranky. Betul tak? At least a banana or a roll?

Brekkie this morning. That's not cappucino by the way.
Just fresh juice;)

So, dah breakfast?

Tea at Winter Warmers

Yesterday, to chase the blues away (cos cny hols drawing to a close), we went out for tea at Winter Warmers @ The Curve. Just me, my sis and Adam. Nak tea session ni tak boleh ramai-ramai, nanti tak jadi nak relax. Cos tea you have to enjoy sip by sip kan, baru feel. Hehe.

I wanted English Afternoon Tea, so I ordered the Afternoon Tea for 1. The platter was not really up to my liking, quite a letdown. Should have gone to Harrods or at least to Teapot Cafe or Delicious. But my Lavender Tea was therapeutic...... *happy*

Me enjoying my cuppa. Look  at my unappetizing plate :(

At least my sis enjoyed her meal ;)

My two tea companions. But my Adam had Iced Choc instead of tea hahah.

Happy Monday all!
Here's to a good week ya.....

Axe & Excalibur!

Taking advantage of the CNY break, we headed to 1 Utama knowing that there will not be much of a crowd around now. And we were right! Ammar & Adam wanted a session in Art Attack. They get to choose their own project, and get their hands dirty and creative juice flowing. Most importantly, MommyDaddy had a nice tea break at Kluang Station with Azfar Q and Azan who was, bless him, sleeping! =)

How much did they enjoy the session? Adam said, "Mommy, tadi saya tak rindu awak."

Hummingbird Cake that buzzes pleasantly...

Oh luvvies! This year, for the triple birthday celebration for my three darlings, Mr Ako & Adam & Sis, I specially ordered a Humminbird Cake from my baker extraordinaire friend Nooral. And what can I say, her Hummingbird Cake just like her Red Velvet, is rich and moist and superb with just the right mix of everything! It leaves a pleasant buzz in my head after eating it *sigh*

Thank you Nooral! Baking with love really made an impact, love!

The Birds and The Bees

Hiya Folks! Oh, yesterday we had an outing to KL Bird Park. The youngest one had never been, so thought it was ripe time to go. And yes, the boys needless to say enjoyed  the great outdoors very much. Suka sangat the birds tu lalu-lalang dekat diorang. Mommy was just thankful, none of the birds pooped on us! Haha =D

Most delicious, so I have to share!

Sweet Holly! I just had the most scrumptious dessert yesterday @ The Tea Republic, BSC. It was to die for really. It's Pecan Chocolate Meringue and it's soooo yummers, u should try it babes. And TTR is a lovely cozy little cafe that serves a myriad of fine teas from all over the world. You will be spoilt for choice!

Between my sis and myself, we had the dessert I mentioned, Roast Chicken Croissant Sandwich, Hibiscus Tea and a superb blend of green tea called Tokio. Ah, heaven!

Fashion Update

Hello peepos! I know you are all enjoying your holiday :) As for me and family, we are not planning to go anywhere far. Just lepak and jalan2 dekat2 ajelah. Right now I am out with my sis yippee. Mr AKO is such a gem, offering to take care of the 4 superheroes while I'm out. I really do need some time off from being Mommy for a little while :) Oh, as the sky is mostly overcast lately, I decided to blend in and be as grey as the weather myself haha

Have a nice family time y'all!!!
