Ulek Beach Resort

Have your holiday in Dungun, Terengganu! Lesser known than Kuala Terengganu and the many tourist favourites such as Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang, Dungun has its own characteristics and certain mystique & charm. Everywhere in Dungun is about the simple life, and that's the most interesting aspect of it. Many City Slickers might dismiss it as just another cowboy town, but many of the more discerning ones would appreciate it for being evergreen and serene. If you want to experience the local lifestyle and culture of the people of Terengganu, u could well experience it here. One of the main attraction is the night market which takes place every Thursday nights, it is the largest one in the whole state! You can find all the local delicacies here. And of late, Pulau Tenggol in Dungun have been attracting a lot of divers, and those who came for snorkelling and even for camping holidays.

Though the most well known beach would be the one in Jalan Pantai, but for swimming and recreational activities head for Teluk Bidara beach. Though many wouldn't know, the fact is that this beach is the best one in the east-coast mainland! Crystal clear water, tranquil and true turquoise blue. There's even a cave there where we could go explore!

In terms of accommodation, there are the long-operating ones like Hotel Uitm and also the Tanjong Jara Resort which is quite expensive. But now there are a couple more places to stay like Mayang Sari and Ulek Beach Resort. In this entry I shall show you pictures of the latter one, where we stayed recently. The best feature I like about this place is the sunken outdoor jacuzzi! My children's favourite is the pool of course :) It is a cozy and fully equipped boutique hotel.
